Today is the anniversary of one of those all-time special days on the calendar for me and Ava.

March 31st, 1984, we got married. It was cloudy. It was chilly. In fact, there are pictures from the wedding.

People outside, as we're getting ready to get into the car, they've decorated

the car and they're standing around the car, hunched over shivering.

So it was a cloudy, chilly, chilly day in Annapolis, Maryland when Ava and I got married.

The wedding ceremony began at 1 o'clock. We made our promises, set our vows, probably at about 120. And then at some point, after that, we walked down the aisle together as husband and wife, and I have a memory of that walk, our first as a married couple, and it just felt surreal.

And I'm sure that's not atypical.

That's probably pretty standard I just remember

walking down holding her hand and just feeling like this is this is weird I was

was 23 years old she was, so it just felt surreal.

I remember a couple of walks we took,

because we walk a lot now, if you've listened to this podcast for any length of time,

you hear me talking about how Ava and I walk every day,
