You can be anything you want to be, unless you were born black during the Jim Crow era of the United States of America.

Then you were constantly reminded of a long list of things you could not be, that you shouldn't even think about trying to be.

And if you so much as pondered, imagined that you shouldn't even think about trying to be. And if you so much as pondered, imagined that you could be one of those things,

well, bad things were happened to you.

Race science of the time even backed up the belief that you were simply just born inferior.

But what if you wanted to fly?

If you had a spirit that wanted to take to the skies above racism and hatred, would you

let the naysayers clip your wings?

Or even worse, never even try.

The Tuskegee Airmen, or the Red Tales, as they were affectionately nicknamed,

chose neither option, and instead they became heroes of the skies during World War II

and changed the United States military forever.
