capital, this country's politics are far from back to normal. Just look at how difficult it is

to hold anyone even tangentially related to the plot to overthrow democracy accountable.

Take Jeffrey Clark, for example.

You'll remember he's the former senior DOJ official who tried to get the Justice Department

under Trump to validate the twice impeached ex-presidents' lies about the 2020 election results,

making him someone who congressional investigators want to hear from.

Well, he did show up for his scheduled deposition before the House Select Committee this week,

but he did not actually offer up any helpful information.

The panel says he refused to answer substantive questions during the deposition.
