The Michael Berry Show was 36 years ago. I was finishing my sophomore year of high school,

getting ready to begin my junior year of high school. And I remember watching this. Now,

I don't think I watched it live because you didn't have, we didn't have cable TV.

We didn't have the ability to watch very many things live, but I recall this being played on the

evening news. President Ronald Reagan had gone to the Berlin Wall and with European leaders

flanking him behind him, he gave a speech. And I watched this speech several times again last night

and it's easy to forget. His comportment is his delivery style. He had the perfect frame. He

was out of central casting literally. And he would slightly turn his head to the side and look

down. And it made a very dramatic gesture when he would look up to deliver his line every hair in

place. And we reduced it down to just a two-minute clip. But you'll remember the line in the moment.

It goes to show that words matter, ideas matter. Give it a go, Ramon.

Behind me stands a wall that encircles the free sectors of this city. Part of a vast system of

barriers that divides the entire continent of Europe, standing before the Brandon Bergate.

Every man is a German separated from his fellow men.

Every man is a Berliner forced to look upon a scar. Today I say as long as this gate is closed,

as long as this scar of a wall is permitted to stand, it is not the German question alone that

remains open, but the question of freedom for all mankind.
