I view how we do our show as sort of a counter-programming to the programming that's already out there.

Many of our listeners are already listening to another show, whether that's Clay and Buck or Glenn or Mark or something else.

So I don't feel the need to talk about whatever is the top story on Fox or the Washington Post or the New York Times.

I know that is upsetting to some people.

Some people want to hear the same discussion over and over again.

It drives our program directors crazy.

How come you're not talking about the school shooting?

Because if you would stop talking about the school shooting, the school shootings would stop or reduce dramatically.

It is the fact that you're going to make the person famous because you're giving the people this just horrible injection of processed sugar because that's where the dopamine is.

So the news industry is in on it and the public's in on it.

And we wonder why we get so many copycat shootings because you got a lot of people who are miserable who feel like their life doesn't matter.

And they're off-kilter already. They're imbalanced.

They've sort of dropped out of school or not doing well in school.

They're being bullied. Their mom's telling them they're crazy and they feel crazy and they have.

And so I'll blow everything up and that's what they do.

But part of that calculation is that in so doing, they'll become famous.

And if you don't think that's true, you don't understand that people will do things for negative attention.

You've never been around a young person, but it's not just young people.

Because sometimes young people will engage in things destructively or negative things in order to get attention.

And one of the challenges of parenthood is to teach your child, if what you're doing is craving attention, let me show you how to do that in a way that doesn't get you punished or ostracized.

But instead we'll have the same effect, but a positive attention.
