| 0:32.6 | timely thing that we are in the book of Acts on Sunday mornings as is. And here we are in Cessaria, in Israel, |
| 0:40.8 | and we're going to be looking into Acts chapter 24. |

| 0:50.1 | especially for you note-takers, where we are |
| 0:53.0 | and why this particular town is significant in biblical |
| 0:57.2 | history. So Cessaria was annexed into the Roman Empire in 63 BC. There was extensive development done |
| 1:06.8 | here at this particular town under Herod the Great. Now you're going to hear a lot about the |
| 1:12.7 | different Herods. Herod the Great was the first of the Herod dynasty. He was the one who gave |
| 1:19.0 | the order for all the baby boys to be killed in Bethlehem during the time when Christ was born. |
| 1:24.8 | It's that Herod. Herod the Great did some extensive development here of |
| 1:29.2 | this town of Cessaria. One of the main things that Herod did was to build a harbor, which is |
| 1:36.9 | behind us here, behind me. This is the Mediterranean, is the backdrop behind me. And Herod had this |
| 1:43.5 | massive building project to build |
| 1:46.7 | this beautiful harbor around 20 BC here at Cessaria. Plus, in addition, Herod built storerooms |
| 1:54.8 | and markets and wide roads and baths and temples to Rome and Augustus because he was obviously he was not a follower of God, he was a pagan guy, he was an idumean. |
