Israel's government is set to vote today on a Trump administration brokered agreement to free the

remaining hostages and establish a ceasefire in Gaza. The administration hopes the deal will be

the first step toward a longer-term settlement that will lead to the disarmament of Hamas and the formation of an interim government to oversee Gaza.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu welcomed the deal to bring home Israeli hostages, which his government is expected to approve.

According to people familiar with the matter, once Israel's government approves,

the deal will go into effect. Spot silver prices reached the historic $50 mark today, a level not

seen since 1980, bolstered by a rally in gold and a rush by investors into safe haven assets.

The precious metals gains have outpaced gold so far this year, advancing 73.5% compared to

gold's 54% increase. Saxo Bank expects silver prices to hit $55 an ounce in the next six to

nine months, fueled by gold's continued strength. Hungarian novelist Laslo Krasnohorkai,

who is known for his dense prose and apocalyptic themes,

was awarded the Nobel Prize in literature. Krasnohorkai's debut novel in 1985, Satantango,

was a breakout success, later becoming one of Hungary's most celebrated works.
