I'm joined by my colleague and friend, Thaddeus Maccatter of American Greatness, and we're

joined by Malcolm Honeline to report on the disorder in the Middle East these last

days, missile exchanges.

But we begin with Thaddeus' question about what day is important to Israel.

Yes, Malcolm.

There was recently a commemoration of Israel's founding.

What can you tell us about the celebrations and about the Palestinian pushback to it?

As you know, there is both the Hebrew calendar and the English calendar, the secular calendar

that we use generally.

So the founding of Israel and the quantity of the Hebrew calendar was celebrated last

year, that last week, the 75th anniversary with massive celebrations that followed Israel's

memorial day.

The day is the secular day, May 15 of 1948, when the UN voted the partition and went

into effect at midnight.

Prime Minister, the man who became the first prime minister, Ben Gurion, made a very

famous speech.

And 11 minutes after midnight, President Truman was the first to recognize Israel.

And the British mandate ended at exactly 12 o'clock, which gave the U.S. the opportunity

to be the first to recognize.

And now the Palestinians have started to call this not-but-day, they have disaster.
