Joe Biden became the first American president to visit Israel at a time of war as the world waits and international pressure mounts over Israel's next move.

Wherever, Israelis so happy to see a plain land in Ben-Gurion Airport like they were this week with visits short yet important visits by the President of the United States.

You mentioned this, the first American president to come here in time of war, and really just a very clear signal on where the United States stands not only in its support of Israel but also I think signaling to the region

in the words of Joe Biden, right? Any country or anyone trying to use this opportunity to strike

Israel again, don't. And I think that Israelis really, this really resonated with them.

Plus, obviously, an aid package, an unprecedented aid package to Israel, all extremely important

in this very tough time.

Yeah, I mean, not the main thing, but from where I was watching it, I just thought it was

a remarkably effective use of presidential leadership. And, you know, apart from the fact that

he does have this sort of faltering manner because of his age

and everything, I think he just gets these things very right. And what struck me was, first of all,

two things. The experience he has with mourning and grief he deployed in Israel, his hour and a half

or more, maybe more,

with survivors of the October 7th attacks,

with families of hostages.

He spoke about it on his way home to reporters on Air Force One saying

that people who've been through traumatic experiences

do find it helpful to be with someone else

who has had suffered, even not in a similar way, but just who holds them and who has gone
