Good morning and welcome to the Independent Republic of Mike Graham right here on the home of Common Sense and the World Headquarters of the Truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth. It is, of course, talk radio. We'll never tire of saying that, by the way, because there's plenty to talk about this morning. The week has started well, it would seem, with the release from quarantine of Novak Djokovic, the world's greatest tennis player. Finally, the Australian

government, which has been actually in a very petulant manner, I'd have to say, has seen

sense after effectively holding him hostage over the weekend. And I don't care what anybody

says about whether or not he was being put into a reasonably good hotel, that he was being

given a right amount of food, that he was all right, he was allowed to do any exercise he wanted to do, none of that, right?

So barring any major accidents, and one of those at the moment is that he may or may not have been arrested again,

hopefully that's not the case, he should be playing in the Australian Open.

And you know what, if it turns out that he doesn't play in the Australian Open, as a result of something that the Australian government has done. I think you should sue the hell out of it, basically. And also the WTA, the World Tennis Authority, should take

away from Australia the actual rights to be part of the Grand Slam family. Just say, sorry,

you are no longer a major tournament. You are petty, bourgeois, knockabout raiders of freedom. And what you are

actually doing is locking people away instead of allowing them to do their business and do their

job. Absolutely outrageous. Meanwhile here, all the evidence is that there's pointing to the fact

that the coronavirus is on the wane. Even the NHS bosses are saying they are getting through

January without tipping into

crisis. When have you ever heard them say that before? They've never said it, not even before

Omicron or coronavirus had ever been heard of. And if they're being optimistic, you know things

might just have changed. The dire predictions from Sage about 75,000 deaths and millions of

infections have simply failed to materialise, and the doom and gloom

emanating from Sir Chris Witty, the chief medical officer, who told us everything he knew about

the Omicron variant was bad, effectively killing off the Christmas party season, turned
