All right guys, it's 9.40 a.m. here on the East Coast and I just wanted to go and have a coffee and read.

I'm currently reading a book, a biography on Cleopatra, very interesting.

And wanted to absolutely stay away from all social media.

But being the idiot that I am, I went to

just check the news, see what's up, and saw that there had been, I think now maybe 11 dead

at a Hanukkah gathering in Bandai Beach. Actually, it's a place that my wife and I, you know, visited and hung out at when we,

when I had my first sabbatical leave in 2001, spent five weeks in Australia and two weeks in New Zealand.

And one of the first places we went is to Bondi Beach and we did a beautiful beach walk and so as you know some men who's you know

we don't know their motives we have no idea what happened we we can't know why they did it you know

just a i mean they just happened incidentally to be Muslim and then just

shot up as though they were swatting mosquitoes, a bunch of Jews. And so I went online and,

of course, I shared my displeasure. It probably took no more than, I don't know, five minutes

before I started receiving a torrent of hate back.

Because you're ready? Because the gentleman who jumped the two Muslims who were slaughtering Jews was himself Muslim.

Okay, well, first of all, obviously he's a legendary hero.

He risks his life to save other people.

So for that, you could be immeasurably thankful to him.

But that's not the key point that I wish to discuss today.

Notwithstanding, as I said, all hail should go to him. Right away, it negated the fact that it was

Muslims who killed the Jews in Australia.

It negated my right to be angry that Muslims killed Jews in Australia.

Similarly, when I called my family in Israel wondering if any of them had been harmed at the October 7th massacre,
