Rob today wrote a nice diary about a new feature of his router switch firewall backup tool that he has written

in PowerShell.

He calls it RTRBK and well the new feature allows you now two diff different backups.

So the basic functionality of the tool is that it will allow you to interrogate

different devices and then create a configuration backups. That in self, of course, is

quite useful as Rob says he's using this tool almost weekly. But having these backups,

of course, now allows you also to compare the backups,

and the new version of this tool does support this diff option. This can be, for example,

interesting for instant handling and such. If you're looking for changes made to a particular

configuration since you created the last backup or also just

for change management to basically continuously create these backups and alert you whenever

there is a change and then you can verify that the change was authorized. So pretty neat

option. Take a look and like I said, it's

written just in PowerShell. I'm talking about PowerShell, Windows and such. Just a quick reminder

that we do have the January patch Tuesday coming up next week on January 10th, which will end

support for Windows 8.1, and Windows 7,

the extended support, will also end on that day. With that, Google also announced that it

will no longer support Google Chrome for anything earlier than Windows 10 starting in February.
