Mark today wrote up some of the findings from his own honeypot, running honeypot, of course,

always a great educational experience.

You probably are not going to find the latest Sarah Day, but really good.

And you have seen this in the last few weeks with some of the diaries we posted.

They're really great about sort of keeping a pulse on what's going on, what's trying to hit you,

and what attacks are that are currently sort of

predominantly being attempted. A couple weeks ago I also wrote about covering up your webcam

and of course no one thing if you aren't into covering your webcam because you occasionally

use it for video conferencing and the like. One thing that's supposed to protect you from someone turning on your webcam is the little LED light that you typically have next to your camera.

Well, it turns out on OS 10, there is a trick where an attacker may still be able to snap a picture of you just by accessing

the webcam at the same time when another process that you expect to access the webcam already

does so.

There is now a new tool that was released by Patrick Wardle that will alert you whenever a process does access

the webcam and gives you the option to deny that process, the ability to see any images.

So pretty neat tool, I have to try it myself and see how well it works, but if you have any

If you're using your browser's private browsing mode, there is an expectation that the

browsing session will be kept private, not just from advertisers and the like online, but also from other users

who may have access to your system.
