Holidays are around the corner, and with that many of us will spend time with family, which means that you'll probably be asked for advice on how to

keep systems secure. We have published guides like this in the past our self this year. I do want

to point to the Citizen Lab Security Planner. It's a fairly simple tool security planner.org

that targets non-technical users

and attempts to customize security advice for these users.

Pretty straightforward site to you,

so it's probably something that you would like to point family too.

After you answer a couple of pretty simple questions as to what devices you use and what your concerns are,

it will put together a list of items that you should address, like for example, two-factor passwords or

backups, and then it offers some guides to assist you in how to accomplish this. Pretty comprehensive

site, and like I said, great to help out family without having to spend a lot of time actually

making all these adjustments yourself.

And Apple released another minor update for TVOS and iOS.

The main point of this update is that in the update released a week ago, Apple did remove the ability to share access to your HomeKit devices.

A problem was found that allowed people to bypass authentication for HomeKit.

So as a quick fix, Apple did disable this sharing functionality, which is now being brought back

in this latest update.

There's also an update for iCloud for Windows 7.

Now, this update does fix five security vulnerabilities in WebKit,

as well as six vulnerability in the APN's server.
