Summary

Why doesn’t God hear people when they pray? Why doesn’t God do something to help them? That’s what we’ll discover in our study of the Old Testament book of Isaiah, chapters 58 and 59. Travel with us as we hear of God’s condemnation of Israel’s wicked ways and His concern for their welfare through the provision of a Redeemer.

In our study of Isaiah 58 and 59, we hear the same complaint.

People might be very religious, going through all the rituals, putting on an outward display of religion, but their hearts are far from God.

And then they wonder why God doesn't seem to hear them when they call out for help. Is God listening? Does he even care? Is he able

to save? Well, the Prophet Isaiah had an answer. He said, Behold, the Lord's hand is not

shortened, that it cannot save, nor his ear heavy that it cannot hear,

but your iniquities have separated you from your God and your sins have hidden his face from

you so that he will not hear.
