We just got done with the humiliation of Babylon.

God is saying, hey, there's going to be some humbling. The great humbling is upon you.

You know all those toy weapons you have? Well, you might as well hang on to them because that's really all you got, right?

So you're incantaditions, your sorceries, your whatever it is that you think you've got,

hang on to them tight because as worthless as they are, it really is all you're left with,

which is all there is.

Apart from God, that's what you got, a bunch of worthless stuff. Yep, yep. We had a lot of condemnation of that kind of things, those kind of

things happening in 47, which is, I mean, certainly directed against any Israelites who participated

in that, a lot of it explicitly against the Babylonians.

Now in 48, which we're picking up now, there's much of a more of a narrow focus upon Israel.

In a particular, what we're going to hear about is God taking them a task for their stubbornness,

for having the Word of God but but not listening to the Word of God. I think we've encountered that a few times before. And how God basically laid
