Well, hello, my friend.

I've shared many times on the podcast and in Self-Coaching Society that I love to read memoirs,

biographies, self-help books.

And currently I'm reading the book by comedian Jimmy Carr.

It's called Before and Laughter.

And I wanted to read a passage from it today because I think it's so good.

And also, it highlights essentially the risk that he took to go out and become a comic, right, a comedian.

And how easy it is to not do that, right, to not follow the path.

I get it.

You know, my corporate career, it was very seductive, all the perks, the expense account, the travel. I felt important in certain circles.

And what Jimmy says in the book, I wanted to read to you, because I think it's so interesting.

So he used to work at a company called Shell in a suit,

super corporate, very professional. And he was like it was completely not him. But he fit the

mold. He had a great education. And look, it was a responsible, so to speak, job. And he poses a great question here, and I wanted to put it to you

today. Please share this episode with someone who could perhaps use it. Look, here we are,

the sorts of a new year. The thing to do is to really be ourselves, right? Perfect self-expression to show up in our lifetime
