this morning we would like to dispel a commonly held myth that extra weight or obesity is the cause of type 2 diabetes. So often people

are told if you would just lose weight, you would get rid of your diabetes. Well, today we want to

help you understand that it's not necessarily always the extra weight that puts you at risk

There's a lot of factors. We're going to talk about that throughout the entire show today.

Just to be clear, I'm not saying, you know, you should not try to maintain a normal weight,

but doing so is not necessarily the one cause of type 2 diabetes.

So we're going to talk about something called insulin resistance today.

And, you know, that is actually what leads to weight gain, which could eventually lead to
