Whatever the predictions for 2026, within days of the new year beginning, they were being rewritten,

as what might prove to be one of the most significant geopolitical events of the year burst onto the scene.

Last night on the order of the President of the United States,

United States military conducted an apprehension mission in Caracas, Venezuela,

to bring to justice two indicted persons, Nicholas

and Sassia Maduro.

It might sound like a movie trailer, but this video, released by the White House, describes the

audacious operation that has left the Venezuelan president, Nicholas Maduro, in U.S. custody.

This was one of the most stunning, effective and powerful displays of American military might and competence in American history.

It's not your typical New Year's greeting, but the video from the White House also included a message to the world

on Trump's foreign policy. Nicholas Maduro had his chance until he didn't. He hefted around

and he found out. People need to understand that this is not a president that just talks and does

letters and press conferences. If he says he's serious about something, he means it. Don't play games with this president's in office,

because it's not going to turn out well.

The Trump administration is clearly jubilant,

while the rest of the world works out how to react.

Was this operation legal?

is still unclear, but according to President Trump, America is now in charge.

So we are going to run the country until such time as we can do a safe, proper and judicious transition.
