Hi, I'm Dave. I started walking for fitness in 2013. Still take an intentional

fitness walk every single day. I'm walking right now and I would love to have you join me for

the next 10 minutes. I'm walking along the wooded trail early in the morning. This is pre-sunrise, although early daylight I can see where I'm

walking. And I tend to walk here more days than not when I'm doing the podcast. I'm not a fan of

snakes. And we have snakes around here. In fact, yesterday I was out for my morning walk and there was probably two feet.

It was a little green snake. Just kind of laying there in the middle of the paved trail.

And I have been on this trail, this wooded trail, later in the day, actually walking

with Ava and probably about where I am now there was a three or four foot, I don't know

what kind of snake it was, probably a black snake, a rat snake, although we do have copperheads

down here. And now that the weather has warmed up,

and the snakes are more active,

and this is the time of day, apparently,

when snakes are on the move, they're hunting food.

And so I'm like, when is it going to happen?

And I'm walking along this trail,

and there's a big old nasty looking snake?

Looking at me and I'm looking at it.

The experts say they're just as afraid of me as I am of them, which may be true, but I'm not about to ask them that.
