This was a coveted award when I was in elementary school and I got it several times. I was super

proud of it. Yes. That was a big deal, man. Yeah, it was such a, and that was the perfect

right here. Last month my son won an award for being a good reader and at that assignment

they also gave out perfect attendance awards and I was like, how, how are we still doing

this? After what we just went through and are still going through, how are we rewarding

students for something that's beyond their control? And I realize it all comes down

to funding, but in the current state of the world we live in, should we really be encouraging

parents to send their sick kids to school? Is that the message we should be sending or

should we be rewarding the students that are responsible citizens and staying home when

they're ill instead of coming to school and getting their classmates sick? Because what's

the lesson that we're teaching children that they should feel guilty for getting sick,

that they're somehow less than they're not worthy of an award simply because they caught

a cold. Well, I was right at chewing this guy and then I listened to him and I kind of

agree. Yeah, I know, right? Well, I'm mad because it's the only award I've ever got. I

didn't do much after I showed up. But I think he has a valid point because yes, you could

not have a sick day when I was a kid because my mom was like, you going to school. So I

agree with what he says, especially in this day and age also, right? But the old attitude

was, if you're not feeling good, you grind it out, you show up, right? But maybe it's
