Hey guys, welcome back to the Dad Tired Podcast. I just recently read a study from the

Barna Research Group talking about why teenagers are leaving their faith once they leave the house

and no longer attending the church and many of them no longer even believing in a God which is

so crazy to think about and really, really tragic. One of the things that they talked about in

that research was how they felt these teenagers felt that there wasn't enough room within the

Christian faith aka in their home to really explore all these really tough questions in the Bible.

It was just too black and white. Their parents said this is the way it is and you can't ask questions.

There's no room for doubt. There's no area to ask really hard questions and so it's important

for us as dads to be able to create an environment in our house where hard questions are encouraged

where even doubt is okay to wrestle through. God can handle all of that. Today I sit down with an

Old Testament professor who recently wrote a book called God to Behaving Badly. Is the God of

the Old Testament angry, sexist and racist? I guarantee you these will be questions that maybe you

ask but for sure your kids will likely ask in the future and so I thought it'd be good to have
