Hey everyone, it's John. I want to announce a really exciting series of episodes.

First, I want to introduce a name to you that many of you will be familiar with, but many of you will not.

David Bakavoy is one of the most important interviews I've ever done

on Mormon stories, definitely top 10. David Bakavoy, you know, raised Mormon in

San Diego. He has a master's from Brandeis University in Jewish studies and a

PhD in Hebrew Bible and the ancient Near East, also from Brandeis.

But what's really interesting about David

is, in addition to being a true Bible scholar,

raised Mormon, he also worked in the church education

system for many, many years, both as a seminary and institute teacher,

specifically a teaching institute at Harvard and MIT, and then later moving to Utah and positioning himself to become a professor of Hebrew and ancient

Near East at BYU when his career was derailed and it's a fascinating story.

David is a brilliant special human

and again one of the most important interviews

I've ever done. Now when I interviewed

Dave I don't know six or seven years ago it was at a time when I was chopping up

interviews into one hour segments so I did a series on his Mormon story, which was chopped up in I think four

segments, and then I did a series on applying higher scriptural criticism to Mormon scripture to the Old Testament

and Book of Mormon. And that was, I don't know, three or four segments as well. It's been long enough that many of you who

listen today will not have heard or seen my interviews with David Baca

boy. Plus their numbers are just really low, given that they were chopped

up and released a long time ago. So we're doing something kind of special and hopefully
