Hey everyone, it's John. I want to announce a really exciting series of episodes.

David Bakavoy is one of the most important interviews I've ever done

San Diego. He has a master's from Brandeis University in Jewish studies and a

PhD in Hebrew Bible and the ancient Near East, also from Brandeis.

But what's really interesting about David

is, in addition to being a true Bible scholar,

raised Mormon, he also worked in the church education

system for many, many years, both as a seminary and institute teacher,

specifically a teaching institute at Harvard and MIT, and then later moving to Utah and positioning himself to become a professor of Hebrew and ancient

Near East at BYU when his career was derailed and it's a fascinating story.

I've ever done. Now when I interviewed

Dave I don't know six or seven years ago it was at a time when I was chopping up
