Imagine getting invited to a wedding, bride comes up to you and says,

hey, you come to my wedding, you go now.

And she says, oh, why not?

And you say, I just, I don't really want to go

You don't make up any excuse you know like my parents are going to be in town. I got something else going on you're just like

There are other things I'd rather be doing

not another wedding you have to attend not a surgery you have to get no schedule is completely

clear yeah I want to go I want to go just I don't want to go.

Just don't want to be with her.

Yeah, so I got a call from my friend over the weekend that brought this question to me.

So I need to ask you, is my friend the a-hole for not wanting to go to her friend's wedding.

So this weekend I got a call from a friend that lives up in New York's every now and then

she'll get me a call, we catch up, we do the whole rigmarole where we're like,

what are you, who you date, you date and she was talking about this wedding

that she had gotten invited to she said Abby do you remember my friend Sarah from

grad school I remember Sarah we went out a couple of times Sarah's a good time I remember you guys were really really close like they were best friends in grad school and she's like yeah and now she lives out in California so we don't really get to see each other that often.

And she is the kind of friend that I think we all have, like somebody who you were best

friends with at one point in your life and even though the relationship isn't

strong today,

because you were so close at one point,

you still kind of consider that person a best friend.
