Summary
Warning: This episode discusses body image, disordered eating, and other complex relationships with food and exercise. Please take care while listening.
This is Danielle's first solo episode in over three years. However, the response she's gotten to some more recent episodes in which she gets very vulnerable about body image and the all-consuming aspects of trying to attain a certain physique, made it clear to her that she needed to dig deeper into the topic by herself before tackling the the subject with Adam. Danielle discusses everything from what she was told about her weight growing up, to the numerous diet plans she's tried (and failed), to her biggest fears regarding body acceptance. This episode is raw, emotional, and will most likely be relatable to many who have endured the shame and scrutiny caused by diet culture. What does she want Adam (and so many partners) to understand? How does she want to live her life from this point forward? What struggles have exhausted her emotionally and physically? It's all in this episode. Listen, and then send it to someone else who might need a little more self-love and to feel less alone.
