It looks like maybe, just maybe, we're going to get some more information about the discovery class,

as in confirmation it's actually happening, an order placed, and a date, theoretically, that the first ship should enter service.

The discovery class has been this project that's been underapps for years.

Royal Caribbean has done a pretty poor job, and I say that jokingly, because, I mean, I think to their own point, I think they've been teasing it a lot. But it's not like a really well-kept secret, as in this project has been, you know, ongoing for a while, even though it's unofficial, even though no orders have been placed. And if you were to ask officially the company, there is no discovery classes. Nothing's been confirmed yet.

However, they've been working on this for a long time.

The difference is we recently got a report that there's been a leak at a French shipyard

to indicate that there's going to be an order place or something announced anyway

in the coming weeks, which definitely makes it seem like an announcement is forthcoming.

This is exciting for a couple of reasons. I'm going to talk about the bigger reason in a

second. But first and foremost, what's really great about this is we're finally going to get,

I think, confirmation of it. This particular report came out of a French newspaper or outlet, news media outlet over

there, and they claim they have multiple sources within the shipyard.

This isn't like I was on a cruise ship and the captain said this or, you know, kind of like

third hand from somebody you're not sure about it, somebody on Reddit posting it.

Like, this is, I believe, a fairly credible rumor of what's to come.

If the rumor is true, it means in a couple of weeks we'll hear a confirmation that

discovery class we built at Chantiers de Lantique, which is the shipyard in St. Nazaire, France.

And we kind of already know that it's the discovery class because in the article

they actually talked specifically about the discovery class ships the author did so i mean to me

it seems like it's probable that that's going to be the announcement here if you follow the

discovery class project at all then you know that real Caribbean is building a and i I'm using air quotes here, smaller cruise ship. Now, how small is small is a really good question. On the one hand, we have heard from Royal Caribbean executives who have, again, teased about it. They haven't confirmed anything, but over the years, like Michael Bailey, who's the CEO, and others have kind of hinted and tease what it's all. Essentially, the discovery class is meant to replace some of the aging hardware.
