We're going to talk about an entry he has in the public square.

The entry in the public square for this month is entitled Pride Month.

The Schmidt's piece speaks of pride as declining. Pride is going down. The fall of pride. The

fall of pride. The title of his piece, yeah. Very good. We've heard of the fall of pride somewhere

way back in the old days. We worked on the title. How can we go with pride goes before the fall?

Something like that, the fall of pride, pride's fall.

Fall, fall, this works.

You begin with what you say is a striking fact.

It's one that came out of your immediate observation, I believe, before reading Matthew's Petz.

You said pride flags during this Pride month in New York City, pride flags are conspicuously absent.

What have you been seeing, at least relative to previous years?

Well, you know, I was traveling around in the first 10 days or so of June,

Pride Month, so-called Pride Month, and I came back and I was walking to work with my

little dog, Mabel, sweet little Mabel, Mentionredoxin, love of my life. And I really was very struck.

It's about a mile and I'm weaving my way through mid-term Manhattan and I became aware

like, what is going on?

There are no pride flags.

I turned the corner, big pride flag in front of St. Bartholomew's Episcopal Church.

Okay, well the Episcopalians, that's kind of their new religion, understood.
