Tell us who you are I'm Franklin Leonard the founder of the blacklist not the TV show

Isn't that is that a different title? Well, we have a space in between black and list,

whereas they are just the blacklist, one word.

But it is definitely, we got a lot of people tweeting at us very frustrated by

plot lines in that television show which is frustrating and I will say when the

show launch which was after we were a thing I was like you know it's fine

it's a TV show it'll be gone

in a couple years and they are still here how many years has that been like six or

seven at this point so funny so tell people what your what our blacklist is

yeah before we jump into a very fun and exciting conversation

which I have been very excited to to get you on to talk about.

Yeah so the blacklist started as an annual list of Hollywood's most liked unproduced screenplays that I started

doing in 2005 when I was working as a junior executive for the Art Caprio's production company,

and it literally was as simple as me emailing my peers and asking for their 10

favorite unproduced scripts and then collating that information and putting it out

under a quasi subversive name. That became very quickly something of an arbener
