where I thought we'd take a moment just to reflect upon the way in which a very, very small number of people somehow inhabit the national consciousness and indeed the nation's affections in a way that you only see a few times in a lifetime.

And Barbara Windsor absolutely and categorically fitting into that description.

I had the pleasure of meeting her on quite a few occasions.

She was a big LBC fan.

We like to say she was a big LBC fan,

and she always had nice things to say when I bumped into her at parties.

But I think she was just a massive Steve Allen fan.

But don't you dare tell him that I said that live on the radio.

She helped me out once, a friend of mine who works with um young adults young adults with special needs some of whom are quite

profoundly poorly um or disabled more accurately and and one of them was just obsessed with barbara

windsor absolutely obsessed and and the wife it was just obsessed with Barbara Windsor. Absolutely obsessed.

And the wife, it was the wife of a colleague of mine that did this. And she was attending one of

those backstage dues that used to be the bane of my life. And she just asked if I could go and

ask Barbara if she would send a signed photo to this lad who she looked after.
