A while ago, I did a video on Mary as the mother of God, or Theotokos.

In this video, I want to talk about Mary again.

This time looking at a document

that the Roman Catholic Church just recently put out that highlights Mary as the mother of believers

or the mother of the faithful. It's called Mater populi Fidelis. And it's making the rounds,

some even wondering if it contradicts prior Roman Catholic teaching about the Virgin Mary.

I'm a Protestant minister of the gospel, and I'll be sharing some of what I appreciated

about this document, as well as where we differ.

Mater populi Fidelis means mother of the faithful people, and this is kind of like a pastoral

letter that was put out by the DDF, or DeCastry for the Doctrine of the Faith.

Think of the DDF as a kind of doctrinal watchdog association within the Roman Catholic Church.
