0:16.0	Today we're going to be responding to critics.
0:19.0	And I'm going to be talking about how to respond to critics, because I know a lot of us who are engaging with this discussion online, especially if you have the joy and the honor and privilege of debating theology on Twitter or other social media, you know what it's like to be shouted down by your opponents.
0:43.3	And this to me is one of the blights of social media.
0:49.3	It's one of the things that I think embarrasses us as Christians by the way that some people act and treat each other through social media.
0:58.9	I have noticed that when I get face to face with somebody who is otherwise vitriolic on social media, the tendency is that they begin to act like humans again.
1:10.4	They actually see that I'm a real person with real emotions, a father, a husband.
1:16.6	They begin to realize I'm a real person with feelings, and they stop saying the kinds of things they say online.
1:23.6	And so that's one of the downsides of social media and hiding as proverbial, perverbal they say,
1:31.4	you know, hiding in your mother's basement, so where you're not have any consequences for all
1:34.3	the things you say, especially when you're hiding behind a false moniker and, you know, fake name and
1:40.1	those kinds of things. People say all kinds of gross things in representation of Christ, no less,
1:45.4	and they're not representing Christ at all in the way they behave.
1:48.6	And that's unfortunate.
1:49.8	And of course, I'm not accusing only Calvinist of doing this, or all Calvinists of doing this.
1:55.8	In my experience, in fact, with Calvinists that I know in person, I've not had that kind of
2:02.0	experience with any of the Calvinist I know personally. The Calvinians I know personally are some of my
2:07.0	best friends and great people. I like hanging out and talking to all my Calvinist friends.
2:13.1	The experience I've had is online in particular, and I've seen it on both sides of the theological aisle.
2:18.3	And so I thought I would jump on today. I wouldn't plan on doing this broadcast.
