Hello and welcome back to Sociology 101.

Today we're going to follow up from the video that I recently produced with my mentoring professor from New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary,

Dr. Adam Harwood.

Many of you may remember that have been tuning in regularly.

We went over his systematic theology, the biblical, historical, and systematic.

And highly recommend the systematic if you're looking for one that is written by a non-Calvinist, if you will,

a scholar, but he includes, as he told us, you know, teachings from a wide array of

Christian history in order to educate versus indoctrinate. And on page, let me boil it up, 589, there's a table there, table 231,

that you can actually see more clearly because it's put here on the screen for us, where it goes

through the word predestined or parrzo in the original language.

And so let me add this to the screen so you can see this.

And he lists all six times that the word peridzo, predestination, is used in the New Testament

and gives a summary of what each of those are meaning.

And I thought, well, that's a great episode for us to examine, do a word study, if you will,

of all the New Testament uses of the word predestined,

and see if those words correlate to what the Calvinist teach. Because as we know, and we've talked about here many times, is a Calvinist

often take the word predestination to mean ultimately that God has predetermined before the world

begins who will and won't believe so as to be saved. And so it seems to me that if that is

what predestination actually means,

then there should be at least one verse that actually says that, that gives us that

indication contextually that God is predestined for certain people to be believers.
