Playing a sold-out stadium show in Los Angeles this month, and that was

Lauren Hill, you heard, singing with him. Celebrities like Erica Badu and Dave Chappelle were in the

audience. It all felt like the old Kanye.

It also felt like a comeback I did not see coming.

For several years now, Kanye's been in trouble.

Public mental health struggles, threats against his ex-wife, Kim Kardashian,

botched business deals, and years now of rampant anti-Semitism.

I should say here,

Ye has apologized for his past behavior,

most recently in an open letter published in the Wall Street Journal.

But this year's long, Kanye Saga,

it gets to the big question I have been asking a lot recently.

Is any celebrity ever really canceled for good? To talk this out, I called up Lucas Shaw. He covers entertainment at Bloomberg, and he's been following this story very closely.
