Addressing some of the crucial questions of our times,

I enjoyed this interview with an outgoing police chief,

the chief constable of Durham, in which he suggests,

controversially, obviously,

that sending people to prison is largely a waste of time.

This would include burglars and violent drunks,

not all criminals, but just quite a lot of them.

It is apparently more expensive

to send them to prison than it is to send them to Eaton. And of course if you send them to

Eaton, they could end up being morally corrupt as opposed to criminally corrupt, but nevertheless

achieve the brink of the Downing Street steps. So we'll talk about that as well, probably first

you can talk me through

the leadership debate or address some of the broader, bigger questions thrown up not just by the

absence of the frontrunner, but perhaps more pertinently by the presence of the soon-to-be also rams.

And at 12 o'clock, I'd love to talk to you about the seaside, the English seaside. No, the British

seaside. I was at the Irish seaside at the weekend. I had an absolutely glorious time in Dorky.
