While everyone's been paying attention to the bloodshed between Israel and Iran,

Israel's also been using deadly force to control the crowds at food distribution sites in Gaza, according to the New York Times. Just this week, 59 Gazans got killed by

tank shells and drone fire at one such checkpoint, according to witnesses who spoke to Reuters.

In the three weeks since Israel took over control of the aid distribution in Gaza,

these sorts of incidents have been happening all over, killing at least 397 Palestinians so far,

according to data from Gaza's health ministry.

here is some of this week's most important headlines. If you want to

study in America, you'd better be saying nice things about it. The State Department announced

this week that it's going to start screening the social media of foreign students as well as visiting

scholars for, quote, any indications of hostility toward the citizens, culture, government, institutions, or founding principles of the United States.

You'll also have to make your social media account public in order to make it easier for officials to scrutinize.

Jamil Jaffer of the Knight First Amendment Institute, a free speech group, says the policy is going to make, quote, a censor of every

consular officer, and it will inevitably chill legitimate political speech, end quote.
