When is it necessary or respectful to supply closure after a relationship and when is it just a waste of time?

That is the question and I feel like I go back and forth on that and after a shocking phone call recently I might have finally made up my mind because I feel like we talk about if closure is necessary a lot and I've always been on the side of

once something ends what does it really matter?

Isn't it, doesn't this depend on the time of the relationship too like if you're going out

with somebody for a year and a half you need closure you're going out with somebody for a year and a half you need

closure you're going out with somebody for a week and a half maybe not so maybe that's

what it is for me because typically in my life once a relationship has ended

it just ended I didn't really need an apology and explanation. I didn't need anything.

If she takes off, if she's the one that breaks up, you don't want to know what?
