Today, Dr. Berg talks about pH and if being acid is unhealthy. The first thing you need to know is your body has many different pH acid and alkaline levels. So when people tell you to get your body more alkaline, ask them what fluid are you talking about. The blood has the most narrow range of pH of 7.35-7.45 and if it goes higher, you have alkalosis and if it goes lower, you have acidosis. So the blood is the reference point in establishing your pH. However, out of all the pH levels, your stomach pH can fluctuate the most. In fact, as you age, your stomach pH can become very alkaline. It starts out at between 1-3, but can then become 4-5 over time. This affects the digestion of protein, the killing off of microbes, the absorption of minerals. If you do not have enough acid in your stomach, you'll get gas, bloating, indigestion. This is why apple cider vinegar/Digest Formula is so important.

For example, your saliva ranges between 6.5 and 7.5.

1:02.0

So just realize, 7 is neutral. Anything higher is alkaline.

1:07.0

Anything lower is acid. Okay, so we got 6.5, that slightly acid 7.5 it's slightly alkaline. So your saliva should range. And by the way, when you go from a 7 to an 8, that's by a factor of 10 times more alkaline, or 7 to 6 is 10 times more acid.
