Hey, welcome back to the home front. I am your host, Reid Galen. Today, guys, I am joined by the one and only the inimitable and indefatigable Nina Janowicz. She is an internationally recognized expert on disinformation and democratization and was one of times 100 most influential people about artificial intelligence,

which you know, I want to talk about. Her debut book, How to Lose the Information War, was published

five years ago, and it was named a book of the year. The New Yorker called it, quote,

a persuasive book on disinformation as a geopolitical strategy. And her second book, How to Be a

woman online, was an examination of online abuse and

disinformation and tips for fighting back and was deemed essential by publishers weekly.

She has run the American Sunlight Project for several years and is at the forefront of all

of these fights.

You sound peppier than I feel. Well, I am very for having me again, Reid. Good to be with you. You sound pepier than I feel.

Well, I am very caffeinated, so that helps. So tell us, here we are. Now, it's October 1st,

2025, we're eight months into the second Trump administration. What has, from your perch, what has surprised you,

what has disappointed you? And are there any points of light out there that you can help us find?

That's a great question. So I think I have been surprised, even though I knew the Trump administration

2.0 was going to be aggressive, I've been surprised at

how quickly they have been able to implement their agenda and actually ties with the point about

what disappoints me. And it's just that they've met absolutely no fucking resistance.

Am I allowed to curse? I'm cursing. No, no resistance. You curse as much as you'd like.

Wonderful. I'm from New Jersey. It's hard to rain it in some days, honestly.
