The spirit empowered an obscure

Anglican priest named George Whitfield, and the awakening in England and America transformed both

countries. Apart from that, I believe that England would have had a French Revolution as ugly and as bad as

the French Revolution was. That

was headed off by Whitfield and Wesley and the preaching of the gospel. And Whitfield was

responsible for the Great Awakening here in the States. And he was a nobody. He was an obscure

Anglican priest and God did a wonderful thing.
