I'm Tim Priester with Pete Sampson, and it is June 15th.

And with the Irish invasion right around the corner, we, of course, we'll discuss that here today.

But I think we want to start with Pete.

I guess the biggest topic in the last couple days,

I will put quotes around it,

a quote controversial statement from Brian Kelly regarding at-risk players.

And let me read it here first and then you respond or share your thoughts with us.

Brian Kelly said in response to a question from the South Bend Tribune, I think we recognized

that all of my football players are at risk, all of them, really.

Honestly, I don't know that any of our players would get into school by themselves right now

with the academic standards the way they are. Maybe one or two of our players that are on scholarship,

said Kelly. I have a lot of reactions to this, Pete. I don't know in trying to put something

together down on paper that we can put it on our website.

But just what was your reaction to it when you heard it?

I was surprised because it felt like, I mean, it was refreshing but surprising.

I don't think it was a necessary thing to say.

It was honest.

I don't know if the whole one or two players would have gotten in is accurate.

And I'm not sure what direction that goes.

Like would have Cory Robinson or Steve Lomber gotten in another name without football?

Maybe I'm not really sure.
