It is Thursday, January 8th, and we are in the middle of transfer portal season.

I'm Tim O'Malley, joined by Tim Priestry of Irish Illustrated, John Bryce of Football Scoop,

and Pete Sampson, the Athletic, and I think I can speak for all four of you.

By saying I had no idea the middle of transfer portal season would be such a headache,

but that is what is going on right now at Notre Dame.

It was a little cooler last year where the transfer portal was blissfully away from us and

Notre Dame was playing in Miami, but we'll have a question on that. A little bit later in this

podcast, I could not resist. Guys, before we get into Notre Dame's operational issues with the portal,

I think people want to hear first about the most recent visits.

So I'm going to a list of five guys here. I pulled from the board. I thought were the most

asked about. Precesters, we're going to start at the bottom of this one because you just did a

film review on him. And we talked about it briefly on Monday, Utah's John Henry Daily. Wow. Really,

Chris and status reports here. Wow, really good football player. I know he's coming off of Achilles and that, you know, I mean, I, I'm hearing kind of conflict. He says he's going to be back in six months. Well, you know, anybody can say that. They don't know exactly how they're going to feel after six months. But man, that play i mean i let you love everything about him you look at him you think okay well he might he's a big

kid he might not be that quick but he's uh he's outstandingly quick great motor he does have

two years of eligibility remaining so if you only get is that that correct? That is correct, isn't it?

Yeah, because he was on a mission. He went, he had a two-year mission when he went to BYU. So we'd love to have him on the roster, but I felt the same way about

Xavier Gilliam and that, you know, there's a lot of, a lot of speculation about him going to

Tennessee. Keon Keeley, what a strange world that we live in if he returns to Notre Dame.

So look, look, there are 4,500 guys in a portal.

There should be eight guys out there that can help Notre Dame, even defensive tackles, what have you.

The issue, though, is that you started so slowly out of the gate that people want

answers, and we're going to try to get into that a little bit. But Daily would solve a lot of
