This is Irish Illustrated Insider. It's June 11th. I'm Tim Priester with Tim O'Malley from Irish Illustrated and Pete Samson from the Athletic.

We are back in action here. Brian Kelly met with an assortment of the media earlier this week, talking about bring the team back to the campus.

He went through the whole litany of steps and stages that they'll go through in terms of

testing and quarantining, et cetera. He addressed the Unity Council and his Kelly Cares Foundation

that he said will now look at helping to eradicate systemic racism.

And dealing, he also talked about dealing with his team and some of the issues there.

And also allowing the players to articulate their opinions on social media and the Nordame website.

So guys, where do you want to start with Brian Kelly

the other day and his conversation with us? And I thought that Kelly cares change was the biggest

I agree. Yeah, it's a really, I should surprise is the wrong word. But I was surprised. I think it's

so, it's a proactive move in his own charity that it was already doing good

and to say, well, now part of my charity is going to change gears and do good for what is

important in this realm. That's not something I think a lot of coaches probably are going to do it. A lot of

coaches have charities out there, you know, and some of them are focused exactly on what they want

to be focused on, which makes sense. It's your money.

But this, I think that is a kind of an altruistic move by Kelly.

I like that the Notre Dame sort of backed its players, not just saying, hey, you can have a voice,

but we're going to take your voice and amplify it through, you know, whether it be Braden Lindsay's essay on UND.com or, you know, taking statements from

Dalen Hayes or Leridgefield-Ajvon or Ausanne or Aronsberger or even just, I think, yesterday

and amplifying those.

I thought that was kind of cool.

I mean, if you had told me that Notre Dame's social media accounts would be tweeting
