Welcome back, everybody, to another edition of Irish Illustrated Insider.

It's Thursday, July 27th.

We're approaching this a little bit differently than we normally do.

I know our readers and listeners have a lot of questions about what's happened on the practice field at Notre Dame here the last

couple days. But we've been observing it and writing about it. So segment one is going to deal with

the offense. Segment two, we'll talk about the defense and a little bit of special teams.

Yesterday, guys, we have a tendency to make a whole bunch out of really a whole little with the first practice of the year.

I wrote Thursday Thoughts today and talked about what we were talking about last year after the first practice,

which was quarterbacks and accuracy.

And this time around it was the DB play, especially the cornerback play against Notre Dame's top receivers.

They were really good.

And with any practice, when it's Nordame versus Nordame, something good happens.

Something bad is going to happen with that as well.

But the DBs played really, really well on Wednesday.

We should interject, though, if we take too much from one practice.

And last year, we were talking about how inaccurate the quarterbacks were and how they were a problem. We did not take too much from one practice last year. So it can't happen that way. But it's nice to see. That was the way I led today's Thursday thoughts. Yeah. It's nice to see. We don't have to talk about every quarterback's throw. Obviously, when we go through these things. My first impression from the offense and much

less, offense the line is really just body types right now. The running backs behind estimate

just look like all viable, quick athletes to me. And I go back to Dealin McCullough saying,

I want to look at the exact quote, is it six special roles he has

for running backs? It might be eight. It's like third and four, third and long, short yardage,

all these different things. And I bet he finds them this year from his running backs. Yeah,

I agree. I know Marcus Freeman, what, referenced two carries from that entire group at Notre Dame,
