It is Monday, October 27th, and unless you are the $54 million man, I expect you'll stay with us for the next hour to digest some college football talk as Notre Dame prepares for former rival, current rival Boston College, this Saturday.

First, though, it's safe to say that recently fired head coach Brian Kelly, former Notre Dame head coach, will not be having a statue erected of him in Baton Rouge either anytime soon. How it happened with Brian Kelly. If he was going to the meeting with an inkling that he would

be fired or if it just all devolved so much during said meeting. No, I think he had a pretty good

idea that it was trending that direction. I know somebody had talked with him yesterday and said,

oh, the bullet gets you the one you never see coming.

And I think once he knew that high, high levels of state government were getting involved,

that the bullet was coming, so to speak.

So that's kind of how I read that.

I think it had been trending that direction.

There just hadn't been a lot of unity.

There had been ample dysfunction in the program, and it just wasn't a natural fit,

and none of the buttons that Brian Kelly pushed, none of the adjustments that were made,

ended up being good fits.

He struggled a bit in finding his offensive coordinator as replacement to Mike

Denbrock. That really stung him to the core when Denbrock left for Notre Dame two years ago

after leading Jaden Daniels to the Heisman trophy. And I think honestly, when you when you do the
