Welcome back to another edition of Irish Illustrated Insider. It is Friday, August 18th. I am Tim O'Malley, joined by John Bryce of both FootballScoop.com and Irish Illustrated and Pete Samson of the Athletic. And it's been a busy month of August. I counted 54 different players and coaches we interviewed.

I guess since this began in very late July, that's got to be a record, I assume, because

there's no possible way a record was set by a previous regime like this. So after all of that,

and a couple full viewings and plenty of roll calls later, what have you, Pete, learned or

confirmed about the 2023 Irish heading into

game week? I feel like they're going to end up being more of a traditional offense than I would

have thought on July 1. Like, I really thought that the, not that they were going to get a pass first offense

under Marcus, but I thought that they were going to be a pass more regularly this year.

And I, I just don't think the roster is ultimately going to be built that way.

You know, I think that they can still be devastating with Sam Hartman, um, as like a play action passer leaning on Audrake Estime and Judari in Price.

But, um, yeah, I do think that the offense is going to be much more of, um, a similar to last year, but a lot better for obvious reasons at quarterback.

So that's a little bit of change.

And then I think that, you know, we've talked about a bunch.

Like the interior defensive line is a lot better than what I thought.

Receivers did not come along the way that I was expecting at all.

But so those were probably the big, the big takeaways for me.
