Welcome, everybody. Today is Thursday, September 4th, and this is Irish Illustrated Insider. I'm Tim O'Malley, joined today by Tim Priester and Drew Mentock of Irish Illustrated, as well as John Bryce of Football Scoop. Notre Dame is on a bye week and as such we have more time to talk about Miami guys and I think everyone's looking forward to that all of our listeners.

But since Drew Bentock was not with us for the Tuesday post-mortem, post-mortem,

I think we're going to turn it over to Drew.

Drew, maybe thoughts on upon rewatch, same as you thought, better, worse, probably not worse,

but some thoughts as you reviewed the Notre Dame Miami game.

Yeah, I don't know if this is partially because there's a little

bit of very strong negative reaction that I tend to maybe start going the other way. But I think

one big point is they, I mean, we all can point to many ways that they need to improve. And they

still only lost by three on the road at a top 10 team, um, who Miami's now number five. So I think, um, I really look at that way. And we also don't know how good they'll be like this. Ruben Bain might actually just be a top 10 pick. Like I know the line clearly needs to improve, but I think there's some things that it's kind of wait and see because this could just be one of the two or three best defensive lines with the top 10 pick on it.

And maybe in hindsight, we won't look at it quite so bad or maybe they're not that good.

And then it's much worse.

So it could go either way.

But I think that's on my perspective.

And I think the defense did really start playing well.

I know Miami did get a little

more conservative towards the end, but on two of those three and outs, they threw the ball multiple

times. It just wasn't that successful. One, they actually ran the ball for six yards and then

passed on every consecutive down and then went three and out. So it may have been better had they ran it.

And we can also be saying, like, if they didn't run the ball and like that field goal, for instance, three times, maybe Nortium has more time at the end and they do come back and they don't get it anyway. So I don't think, I think Nortium legitimately stepped up. And I think that should be really encouraging despite kind of the chaotic first three quarters.

And Preacher, he touched on maybe that defensive line is that good.

And I want to turn over to you and J.B. here because segment one, we're going to talk Northern-Othensive Line a lot because we could have had three segments, segment one, the

norm, segment two questions, and segment three offensive line questions.
