today by Drew Mentock and Tim Priester of Irish Illustrated, and guys going on or about to start during

this podcast, the official announcement of Pat Garrity as Notre Dame's first general manager of both men's and women's basketball.

It's a position that did not exist in the past in any world of college sports.

And now it is ubiquitous and absolutely necessary.

And Tim Priestier, you covered Pat Garrity.

I was in school just before Pat Garrity.

And there is not a better representative. Notre Dame's got a lot of them in the Garrity, and there is not a better representative.

Nordheim's got a lot of them in the basketball team, but there's not a better representative

of Pat Garrity for this role and probably someone, he'll be as qualified as any.

Yeah, totally agree. You couldn't pick a person better for this job, and you couldn't have,

this was absolutely necessary and needed for these two

programs especially the men's program which can't seem to get to the NCAA tournament

other than like once every what has it been eight years one time in eight years so yeah absolutely

great choice pack garrity uh top notch, Notre Dame man, background in the NBA.

Yeah, great player, two, two thousand point score in Notre Dame, future, soon to be, Ring of Honor,

addition, we would imagine, because he, well, I've been told that him and John Paxson are,

I don't know if I've been definitively told that those are the next two, but I think there's a good chance of that. And Garrity deserves it

even more because he's a 2,000 point score. But great choice and they need it. You know,

women's basketball needs it too with the people that that took place upon the conclusion of

this past season.

Yeah, I agree. He's definitely the best person you could envision for this role. I do as somebody
