Hello and welcome to another episode of Poppa Bear Hikes.

Today I'd like to welcome back friend of ours from Poppa Bear Hikes he's been on

before. I'd like to welcome back Owen from Ireland by canoe, Owen, welcome back.

Cheers Martin, good to see you and yeah thanks for having me again really excited to talk to you.

Owen let's start off. Why don't you tell us what you've been up to since the last time we spoke.

I see here you just finished a recently finished up a trip. Tell us about that.

Super yeah so I guess we spoke kind of mid-summer to the end of summer nearly.

So I've been trying to acclimatize back to winter. I spent two months out in Zimbabwe for

a number of reasons, had a bit of a holiday, friends wedding, did a bit of exploring as

well which is really exciting. Got to paddle on the Zambizi which was fun but daunting as well

and we can't wait to get out again and then most recently completed paddling the Shannon River

which is the longest river in Ireland, England, Wales and Scotland so the Irish and British

Isles it's 360 kilometers long runs from north to south and yeah it's quite a famous river

and I suppose west in Europe and in the the Emerald Isle that we live in in Ireland and

we recently completed that eight days over Christmas kicking off on Christmas Eve and finishing

on New Year's Eve and in support of our charity that we support the Refiki Network and also

really just to get out and get some fresh air and get paddling and try and ensure that the seasons
