0:19.6	We were talking about the Israel Gaza situation before the news and will continue to bring you a
0:26.0	variety of perspectives on that but looking at that as much as we have on this show and the media in general because the
0:35.6	intensity obviously of that situation means that there are conflicts
0:40.6	occurring throughout the world that we haven't devoted enough time to.
0:45.2	The growing civil war in Sudan is currently being referred to as a forgotten war despite the
0:52.0	thousands of civilian deaths there.
0:54.5	There's also civil war in the Democratic Republic of Congo,
0:58.4	which the Nation magazine referred to as
1:01.0	the big little war you've probably never heard of in a recent peace.
1:06.1	So while we won't be getting into the details of these massive conflicts today, we are going
1:10.9	to look now at the growing threat of humanitarian crises around the world.
1:15.5	All three of these territories I just mentioned, Sudan, Congo, and what a report we're going to refer to calls the occupied Palestinian
1:26.7	territories are ranked within the top 10 on the International Rescue Committee's 2024 Emergency Watch List.
1:35.0	The goal of the report to see potentially humanitarian crises
1:40.0	prepare resources and posit solutions ahead of time as much as possible.
1:46.2	So joining us now to discuss the findings of the report is David Miller Band,
1:51.6	president and CEO of the International Rescue Committee, which helps and advocates for refugees around the world.
1:58.0	Some of you know he's the former British Foreign Secretary.
