I welcome John Bolton, Ambassador John Bolton, former ambassador to the United Nations for the United States,

former national security advisor, writing most recently of Iran, the

suspect nuclear weapons program, the depredations of the neighborhood, everyone that Iran has

attacked these last years, plus the octopus arms that have attacked Israel since October

of two years hence. And what is to be done? John, a very good evening to you.

It comes down to the negotiation now underway between the Trump administration and Tehran.

In your article, you recount how we got to here. But I just wanted to start and go backwards.

Where are we, John, right now? The road is

important, but the arrival is everything. I can't fix us on the map. Where is the suspect

nuclear weapons program of Iran in the Trump administration's mind? Good evening to you, John.

Good evening. Well, I think it's very much on their mind.

Iran really is in a desperate situation now. After the shock attack of October 7 and 23,

Israel has administered a terrific pounding to many of Iran's terrorist proxies to Hamas and the Gaza Strip, the Hezbollah in Lebanon and Syria.

We're still pounding the hooties in Yemen.

We're not quite there yet, but they've suffered the Assad regime in Syria has fallen a huge victory for Israel. And the United States, although replaced by what still looks to be

a terrorist regime, just not one aligned with Iran. And in Iraq, the Shia militia have had

their setbacks. Iran itself has been bombed by Israel, and it's now suffering once again

under strong American sanctions. So they need time,

they need relief, they need to get out from the, from the hole they've dug themselves into,

and I think they see the negotiations, the two sessions that have already been held, the one
